My Happy Place
You know how people say, “go to your happy place” when you’re stressed? Mine is Scottsdale, Arizona. I’ve been twice in the past two years, I’m heading back this September, and you can bet I’ll be planning another trip (or two) for 2022.
What’s so great about it? Honestly—what isn’t?

- Stunning desert and mountain views
- Hiking trails in every direction
- Dry heat (a lifesaver for us frizzy-hair girls)
- Architecture built right into the mountains
- Vibrant downtown bars
- Wineries and tasting rooms
- Luxurious resorts with infinity pools
- Championship golf courses
- High-end boutiques
- Iconic cactus landscapes
- The Desert Botanical Garden
Picture this: sipping drinks poolside, overlooking an infinity pool that melts into endless desert views. That’s Scottsdale.
This place came into my life back in May 2019, thanks to my brother’s 25th birthday trip (and my amazing parents for choosing Arizona to celebrate). We started in Sedona, spent his birthday at the Grand Canyon, and then Scottsdale sealed the deal for me. Arizona’s views are breathtaking—and Scottsdale became my forever happy place.king.
After Sedona, we drove about two hours to Scottsdale. The moment I stepped out of the car, the dry heat hit me—and it was absolute heaven. Coming from New York, where I shower, blow out my hair, curl it, and then still have to straighten the top just to keep the frizz under control, this was a dream come true. No humidity, no battle with the flat iron… just pure desert air.
Those few days in Scottsdale sealed the deal for me. Dining at restaurants with views I’ll never get over, watching the Yankees game outside on the pool patio, and having endless pitchers by the pool—it all felt like the perfect mix of relaxation and energy. I was hooked.
And now, as my sister’s Maid of Honor, I already know her bachelorette party has to be in Scottsdale. No contest. Can’t wait to share updates on that one—brb booking my flight.
