Logan Inn, New Hope, PA

A Wedding Weekend at the Logan Inn, New Hope, Pennsylvania

When my best friend said “I do” at the Logan Inn in New Hope, PA, it felt like stepping into a storybook. The day unfolded in one of Bucks County’s most historic (and haunted ) landmarks, and the charm of the inn, the town, and the people made it unforgettable.

The Logan Inn: Historic & Haunted

Dating back to 1727, the Logan Inn is one of the oldest continuously operating inns in the United States. Originally a tavern and rest stop for travelers, it has witnessed centuries of American history, from the Revolutionary War to today’s elegant celebrations.

One of the most fascinating details we learned, courtesy of the couple’s history-themed welcome bags, was that George Washington himself stayed at the Logan Inn. Washington was notorious for journaling every night, but for the three nights he stayed here, his journal fell completely silent. No entries. No explanations. Just three blank evenings lost to history.

It was the perfect fun fact to set the tone for the weekend, a celebration steeped not just in love but also in the couple’s shared passion for American history.

And yes, it’s famously haunted. Guests and staff have long reported ghostly figures, unexplained footsteps, and sudden chills in its historic halls. A little spooky flair to balance out all the romance.

Spaces That Wow

The Logan Inn has no shortage of unique spaces to host a wedding weekend. From the elegant Ballroom with its dramatic wood-beamed ceiling, to the lively Rock Room with checkered floors and red banquettes, to the intimate Whiskey Lounge and Wine Cellar, the inn has a spot for every mood.

The inn itself features 16 original guest rooms that carry the charm of centuries past, along with 22 recently added rooms that bring a more modern boutique hotel feel. Each space is eclectic and individually styled, offering a mix of history and comfort.

With its glowing chandeliers, stone fireplace, and open-hearth kitchen, the space felt both elegant and warm, perfect for gathering everyone before the big day.

The couple curated a beautiful menu, and every plate that came out was a hit:

  • Starters: crisp Caesar salad, tuna tartare with egg yolk, and short rib egg rolls.
  • Entrées: steak frites with chimichurri, shrimp and grits with a creamy kick, and truffle fries that disappeared as fast as they hit the table.
  • Dessert: a choice of molten chocolate cake or blueberry-lemon cheesecake, the sweetest ending.

But beyond our menu, Ferry + Main has a reputation of its own. Known for its wood-fired meats, East Coast oysters, and seasonal plates that highlight local ingredients, it’s the kind of restaurant that draws both hotel guests and locals back again and again. The open kitchen and dramatic wood-burning hearth give the dining room a lively, almost theatrical feel. Dinner here feels like an occasion in itself.

The Wedding Celebration

Although the ceremony was held off-site, the couple took breathtaking photos in the Parry Mansion garden across the street, adding even more character to the day. Back at the Logan Inn, the cocktail hour flowed into the Ballroom, where the atmosphere was lively and welcoming.

The food and drinks were fantastic. My husband had the halibut, while I went for the filet, both cooked perfectly. The bar kept guests happy with a steady flow of creative cocktails, and the dance floor was impressively large, a true benefit of the space that made it easy for everyone to join in and celebrate all night long.
